Leadership & Governance

Apostolic Church Australia consists of a number of congregations located in every Australian state and mainland territory. Each congregation is led by a local leadership team (sometimes called an oversight or presbytery), which is responsible for the wellbeing of that local church.

A national leadership team (NLT) is appointed from among the movement’s senior and experienced ministers every two years and is responsible to lead the church. The NLT ensures that each congregation is fulfilling in its local community its purpose to honour Jesus Christ. This is achieved by gathering believers for worship and fellowship, and equipping and releasing them for service in the community.

The commercial and business affairs of the church are overseen by the board of the company (Apostolic Church Australia Limited). The board is appointed by the NLT and ensures that the church complies with its legal, commercial and legislative obligations.
